Trio

Southern Strings consists of three or four players combining the instrumentation of 2 violins, viola and cello. The trio does not include the viola.

A viola provides a wonderful extension between the harmony of the second violin and the bass accompaniment of the cello and can certainly enhance the sound production.

There are however, very few limitations to the music that we can play as a Trio and the sound produced by the trio is still enchanting.

Many people choose a Trio because it is cost effective, a very important consideration especially when planning a Wedding. If the booking is intended for the Ceremony only, then a Trio is quite suitable. A Quartet is more popular for receptions, pre dinner drinks and other functions.
